I was in a panic a few weeks ago when we pulled up the old carpet off our bedroom floor in order to refinish the hardwood underneath. We had no idea what we were going to find, and I wasn't prepared for just how bad they looked once the layer of carpet and padding was lifted off (click here for evidence and understanding of just WHY I was panicked...but prepare yourself. It's not pretty)!!! Paint spots and stains...a couple of holes and loose boards. I never thought they would look nice. And they were pine. I didn't want them to be pine!
But (are you ready?) here they are (drum roll please!)....
TA DA!
They are, by no means, perfect...but we wouldn't expect them to be! We love the little imperfections that only 140 year old floors can have...
Can you believe the difference?! Would you ever have thought by looking at the previous photographs that they would ever look this good?!?!

Hi Paula,
You guys did an amazing job refurbishing your floors!!You deserve to take a bow :)
Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit this Sunday afternoon. It is such a lovely quiet day especially after the craziness of Carnaval!! I'm glad you were able to giggle a bit, that is one of my goals. There is just far to little giggling going on these days :)
What a lovely blog you have and I have truly enjoyed my visit!! Please come calling again. I'll make sure I have a fresh pitcher of limonada cooling in the frig.

Paula,
Those floors look amazing! I can't believe how different from the dull, paint stained floors that you originally found. It is always so much fun when the project is finished and you can stand back and take it all in and enjoy the results of hard work:)
BTW, I loved the comment you left on my blog about your storage shed! I laughed out loud when I read that! My husband read it too and laughed. I think he would like for me to spend more time shopping around our house than antique stores:)
Paula,
Your floors are simply stunning!!!! ;)
Blessings~ Miss Jen
Beautiful, beautiful job. It's hard to believe the before and after pictures! I bet you love dancing on them in stocking feet:)
Wow! Great job! (I know how much work it is as my husband and his brother refurbished three rooms last summer. It took many many week! But the outcome was/is wonderful!) How exciting for you to have this completed! Awesome!
