Our House Restoration - LAUNDRY ROOM

The remodel of our laundry room happened sooner than we anticipated. A couple of years ago, we were forced to remodel the laundry room after a disasterous water leak on the west side of our house. The leak damaged the floor and walls of a second floor bathroom and then seaped through to the room below, the laundry room.

There is no way to describe the state of the laundry room before the remodel. I did not take pictures before the water leak, as we were not yet working on that room and I thought I would have time to document the disaster. Little did I know it would get worse before it got better.  We awoke one morning to water pouring through the ceiling, and there just wasn't time to stop and snap pictures.  Looking back, it seems odd that I did not stop to take pictures. I take pictures of everything.  Anyway...

The good news is that in a matter of a couple of months, I had a brand new laundry room.  I appreciate that laundry room even more now that we have a ten month old at home, so in celebration of this heavenly space (at least it is to me), I decided to repost pictures of the remodeled space.

Have a wonderful, washed and clothes-line fresh kind of day!

Hi Paula
Thanks for stopping by my blog~ had to come see the room~
Pretty~ very pretty & big laundry room!
The pic on the sidebar of your home~ I love it~I love big old white houses!

When I started working on my home it was in March of 1990~ we did not move in until January of 1992~and we were still working on it!

This bedroom is what I call my antique bedroom~ family heirlooms~ so at the time I wanted the Victorian look~ the wallpaper worked!
but I must admit~ I love wallpaper~ if you look at my home~ my posts~ I love lots of character~ wallpaper has given my home that look~ but now the trend of wallpaper is gone~

So I am starting to paint~ so it has been frightening trying to decide the color~ I don't want to change much with having a big home!
Can't wait to see more of you home~I love re-dos!So much fun~very inspiring~
Now since I have talked your ear off!

I'm unbelievably jealous of your laundry room!! An old house is supposed to have the laundry in the scary basement ... at least that's what I was told. :) What a delightful room!!

That's what a laundry room is supposed to look like. I love it!!

I needed to see this! Serendipity indeed! We recently moved into a new (to us) home, and nobody uses the front door, so I want the laundry room to make a good first impression. :) I'm off to look through our old blocks to see what I can spell. And the button jar! How perfect...decorative and handy to have close by when you find a loose button in the bottom of the washer. Love it!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my floating books post.

Is that your laundry room with the sink or is that your kitchen? If it is your laundry room I am sooo jealous. Mine is in the dredge of a basement that you can only walk a tightrope width of an aisle to the washer and dryer that has stuff stacked in front of it! Aughhh

Now THAT'S what I call a LAUNDRY ROOM!! My laundry room is so small you couldn't even whip a cat in it (ya know I have never really understood that expression.) LOL Anyway....visiting from Leslie's purge party. Everything looks beautiful. Blessings <3 Paula

Paula, I had seen this when I first visited your blog but I had commented on three other posts and didn't want you to think I was a stalker or anything like that. hehehehe

I remember thinking I could do laundry all day in a gorgeous room like this.

I LOVE the jar with the buttons and all the special touches.

Okay, the counter with the sink and gorgeous window with precious wreathe is all part of the laundry room or this is connected to the laundry room? Either way, I'm bringing my laundry next time I'm in your neck of the woods. ;) LOVE IT!

YOU HAVE A SINK in your laundry room, that's attached to a counter and cupboards?
I suppose, at the time of the water pouring in through the ceiling, you weren't imagining the room could ever be as amazing as it is now!
What a wonderful space---does it sorta make you look forward to washing day(s)?
Thank you so much for coming to my Purge Party! Purging may not be the most popular subject, but I think you'd agree, that the freedom we find when we hold our hand open to receive and release blessings is worth more than anything this world has to cling to...
I need to hang my clothes outside more....hmmmm...think the HOA would mind?
HUGS!
