A Simple Woman's Daybook - February 23, 2009

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW...
A sprinkling of snow on the ground, but glorious sunshine and blue skies!

I AM THINKING...
that picking out bedding for our baby is harder than I thought it would be!

I AM THANKFUL FOR...
My husband who is supportive, wonderful, loving and a rock of strength! The most responsible person I've ever met.

FROM THE KITCHEN...
Chicken in a marinate cooked in the slow cooker and will be served with rice and a vegetable.

I AM WEARING...
Brown slacks, a beige sweater, a beige, brown and black scarf and brown mules with a cute little buckle on the side...my favorite shoes.

I AM CREATING...
Right now, all I'm creating is better looking woodwork in the Man Room. We spent the weekend scraping, sanding, caulking...and now we're ready to prime.

I AM READING...
The same books I was reading last week, as I've scarcely had time to do any reading at all the last week! What a pity!

I AM HOPING...
that my husband has a safe trip to Montgomery this week and comes back home soon. I miss him when he travels for work.

I AM HEARING...
Co-workers preparing for our monthly meeting and classical music on my radio

AROUND THE HOUSE...
We have boxes of things to take to Goodwill! We really should clean out our closets more often.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...
Our yard...an acre full of trees, flowers and endless possibilities.

A FEW PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK...
The "Mardi Paws" benefit for the Humane Society (I can't wait to wear my fancy mask and beads!), more work on the Man Room, and dinner out and a movie with my husband.

MY PICTURE THOUGHT...
At last, my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
Oh, yeah, at last
The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clovers
The night I looked at you
I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to rest my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
Oh, yeah when you smile, you smile
Oh, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
For you are mine
At last

Paula, I love your wedding photo!!! It just says "Bliss" to me:) I had a lot of catching up to do over here at Serendipity!

Ok, first of all your house is AMAZING inside and out!!! I love every room and the loving restoration work you both have done. My husband was the project manager for a restoration company in Charleston, SC. The homes there are civil war era homes also. So I got to see first hand how much work it takes to maintain a historical home. My hat off to you!

The library is my favorite room and the fireplace is just breathtaking. I don't think I would ever leave! LOL! There are three antique photos on the wall over the sitting chair, are those family photos? You know how much I love them. Also, in that same photo are two clay garden balls on the tiny chair and floor to the right of the chair. I am OBSESSED with those things and I bought about a gajillion of them in every size they had at Hobby Lobby and they are in every room of my house. How weird am I? LOL!! I even have one that is bigger than a basketball on top of one of the cabinets in my kitchen. I'll post a pic today for you to prove my craziness!

The photo of Isabella is priceless!!!! Such a cutie!

I saw the Diane Sawyer show and I would be angry too. What an unfair portrayal of life there. Anything for ratings, right?

I am sure that the baby bedding you choose will be perfect and beautiful. You will know the second you see it that it is the one. Promise. Have a wonderful Tuesday sweetie! Love, Jamie
